To sit for the CMA exam, the candidate must meet or is expected to meet one of the following:

1. Membership in the Institute of Management Accountants

2. Paying the Entrance Fee

3. Satisfying the Education Qualification

Education Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited College or University.
  • If Bachelor’s degree is not available or the experience, you can sit for the exams and fulfill the educational and experience requirements within 7 years.

4. Satisfying the Experience Qualification.

Experience Qualification

  • Two continuous years of professional experience in management accounting and / or financial management.
  • This requirement may be completed prior to or within 7 years of passing the examination.
  • Continuous part-time positions of 20 hours per week (at a rate of one year of experience for every two years of part-time employment).

  • CMA Entrance Fee (nonrefundable) – $300*
  • Exam Fee – $495 per part.
  • IMA Membership Fee – $295.
For Student/Academic Members:
  • CMA Entrance Fee (nonrefundable) – $225*
  • Exam Fee – $370 per part.
  • IMA membership Academic – $160.
  • IMA membership Student – $49.
IMA membership is required. Certified CMAs will need to pay a $30 annual renewal fee and will be required to report 30 hours of CPE on an annual basis.
